1. Characteristics and properties
With Gleitmo 605, a colourless, glossy, non-slip film is formed on the workpieces. The gliding layers produced fully comply with the VDA guidelines. The Gleitmo 605 process is also KTW approved, i.e. harmless when used in contact with drinking water. The service temperature range of the generated coating is -40 to +110°C. The average friction coefficient is about 0.12 in the screw test (M12/8.8/ at 20°C). In addition, the Gleitmo 605 process offers a good sealing effect against hexavalent chromium, which further increases corrosion protection, especially for galvanised workpieces with hexavalent chromium coatings. The additional properties of the Gleitmo 605 process are the non-soiling and non-greasy properties of the coating. It should also be mentioned that Gleitmo 605 has no adverse effect on any type of screw locking material.
2. Benefits and areas of application
Coating with Gleitmo is an extremely efficient process for the application of polymeric solid lubricants to all types of workpieces, e.g. screws and screw connectors, as well as to all components that must provide good sliding properties. It is particularly suitable for mass-produced articles which are installed by automatic screw systems or feed systems and require long-lasting lubrication, which is fully maintained and ready for use even during longer storage periods. In addition, coating with Gleitmo serves to effectively prevent cold welding of components during assembly.
3. Basic material
The Gleitmo process can be applied to almost all coating systems. Electroplated copper, tin, nickel and zinc coatings are particularly suitable for the use of Gleitmo 605. After material-specific pre-treatment, all non-ferrous metals and their alloys, aluminium, zinc die-cast as well as steels and stainless steels in particular can be used as base materials.
4. Required delivery condition
The goods provided must be largely metallically bright. Residual oils or residual impurities must be removable with conventional aqueous alkaline degreasers. Oils containing silicone, alkali/alkaline earth and high-pressure additives must be avoided at all costs.
